Built to Last, Made with Care.
❋
Conscious Manufacturing
At Raja & Mitsu Fashions, sustainability is built into how we source, manufacture, and operate.
Our commitment focuses on material integrity, ethical production, and long-term environmental responsibility.
Responsible Materials
We believe that quality and responsibility go hand in hand.
❋ Vegetable-Tanned Leather | LWG-Certified Sourcing
We work with LWG-certified tanneries and use 100% vegetable-tanned leathers that are chrome-free, dyed using plant-based dyes, and fully biodegradable.
These leathers age naturally and significantly reduce chemical impact during processing.
❋ Biodegradable
Leather Alternatives
For brands seeking animal-free solutions, we offer plant-based, biodegradable leather alternatives designed as responsible options within the material ecosystem.
❋ Locally Sourced Natural Textiles
We prioritize locally sourced 100% organic cotton, canvas, and jute - materials abundantly available in Calcutta and native to India.
Wherever possible, we work with regional suppliers to support the local economy and reduce transportation impact.
❋ Components & Supply Chain Responsibility
Our linings and fillers are sourced from various parts of India, strengthening domestic supply networks.
Hardware is imported from countries with strict labour regulations and fair wage standards, ensuring responsible sourcing across our component chain.
Ethical Production & Compliance
We operate under SMETA (SEDEX) social compliance standards covering :
Business Ethics
Health & Safety
Labour Standards
Environmental Responsibility
Circular Practices & Waste Reduction
All leather and material scraps are redirected to secondary makers and small manufacturers who upcycle them into accessories and other products. Nothing is casually discarded or sent directly to the landfill.
❋ Upcycling of Production Scraps
❋ Efficient Production Plannings
Optimized cutting techniques and material planning reduce excess waste at source.
Built Environment & Biodiversity
Our state-of-the-art facility within the Kolkata Leather Complex spans over 5,000+ sq. meters, with more than 40% intentionally preserved as green space.
This includes native greenery supporting local biodiversity, on-site vegetable gardens contributing to a self-sustaining ecosystem, and segregation and composting of biodegradable waste.
The integration of manufacturing and green space was a deliberate decision - reinforcing our commitment to environmental balance.
